About the Centre

The University of Tartu’s Centre for Multilingualism is an info centre in the Institute of Estonian and General Linguistics which disseminates knowledge and research results to interested groups and people, thereby raising awareness about multilingualism. The Centre opened in February  2025. Please write us with any questions you have at mitmekeelsus@ut.ee.

Provide an overview on its website of the results of research on multilingualism and to distribute both practical and theoretical materials about multilingualism.

Create a virtual info point where people can submit questions and receive information about multilingualism.

Organise workshops and seminars for schools and parents to disseminate the latest research and to combat widely held myths about multilingualism.

Create a unified space for researchers involved with various aspects of multilingualism to connect with each other and to share relevant results, activities and opportunities.
